PTFE
PTFE is used where extreme resistance is required to seal against toxic and highly corrosive media.
PTFE is almost totally chemically inert and is only attacked by molten alkalis, metals and certain fluorine compounds at elevated temperatures. Suitable for sealing corrosive chemicals such as Hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, chlorine gas and applications in the food and pharmacautical industries.
Temperature range up to 250 C.
Glas filled PTFE
The PTFE resin is filled with glass fibre; this improves the creep resistance of the material and reduces the cold flow characteristics, making it more suitable for use as a sheet gasket material. The addition of glass fibre has an insignificant effect in the chemical resistance of the material.
