ED/RGD resistant o-rings
High pressure and a sudden pressure drops often leads to broken o-rings, using "normal" qualities. This is called (ED) Explosive Decompression or (RGD) Rapid Gas Decompression.
All elastomers have cavities or porosity in the structure. Small vapor molecules can move between the pores. Gas or liquid can penetrate into the structure and by sudden pressure drops media is trying to reach the low pressure side. Bubbles can be formed and tear the material apart. The seal is now broken and must be replaced.
