O-ring hardness
Hardness is measured in either Shore A or IRHD. A correct choice here is often essential that the seal will not be extruded out of the ring groove.
In any case it is always advisable to apply O-Rings with the maximum section suitable for the particular application. In case of an identical gap width, the volume of rubber pressed into the gap will be less, the larger the volume of rubber proves to be.
