PTFE

PTFE - Polytetrafluorethylene - or Teflon as Du Pont once called it more than 60 years ago, is a product often used in our industry.

Extremely good chemical resistance and high thermical stability. Temperature range from -270 to +260 C. For a short time the temperature limit can be increased, but temperatures in excess of 300 C can be dangerous to your health because of the gases given off.

The product has a low friction coefficient, is weather and UV resistant. Often used as an electrical insulator.
