Cefilair®, inflatable seals

In comparison with conventional solid profile seals, CEFIL´AIR® inflatable seals excel through their very much longer service life especially when sealing large gaps in moving machine and system components.
The corresponding machine or system components are positioned without contact with the seal, and the seal is activated with compressed air. The internal pressure elastically expands the shell of the seal up to 40 mm depending on the type of profile, thereby sealing the gap. If the parts are to be separated again, the compressed air is simply released and the seal will regain its initial shape.

CEFIL´AIR® seals consist of hollow profiles of differing cross sections and they are made of elastomer material. The seals are either continuously vulcanized or, in the case of straight lengths, fitted with stoppers at the ends and they are equipped with a vulcanised air port (valve).
