Waterjet cutting
This alternative cutting technology is based on a cold cutting process. Water pressurized to between 3000 and 4000 bar, is discharged at a very high speed from a fine nozzle. Hard materials can be cut when a suitable abrasive is added to the water.
In conjunction with the specially developed CN control, Water jet insures that good cutting results are obtained repeatedly, in addition to the ability to cut complex contours to the required tolerances. In this connection, direct piercing of the material and automatic curve correction by the CN control system are imperative.
The water-jet uses the principle of "stationary work piece - travelling cutting head". This makes it impossible for parts to jam or material surfaces to be damaged. The dimensions of the work piece are immaterial. The Water jet allows production wherever conventional processes are no longer economical or even fail completely.
